Those of you who have been to the “My Music” sec­tion lately might notice some­thing a lit­tle dif­fer­ent. The “free down­load” link on all the songs is gone.

Well, not exactly.

To make things eas­ier all around, I’m insti­tut­ing a “pay what you want” policy.

“But what if I don’t want to pay any­thing?” you ask.

Yes, you can even choose to pay noth­ing. Just enter “0” when it asks you to name your price. No, I’m not the first one to think of this (Radio­head pop­u­lar­ized the con­cept), but I think it’s a great idea regard­less of originality.

I’ve also bumped up the qual­ity. The “stan­dard” 128kbps MP3 is no more — 320 is the min­i­mum. Techy trans­la­tion for those of you who have no idea what that means: the songs now sound better.

“Why are you doing this?” you might also ask.

Because I like you. Because I’m crazy. Because I can. Because I don’t want money to get in the way of peo­ple hear­ing music. Choose whichever answer sounds best to you, and above all, enjoy listening!
